Welcome
Hi there. My name is Blair. Welcome to my corner of the internet.
I’m a twenty-something CPA (accounting jokes may commence) from a Midwest college town. I graduated from college and joined the working world in 2011 with big dreams for the future, as well as big student debt.
Why I Blog
To me, handling finances can be like walking along a teetering tight rope. You hope that your decisions keep you balanced and prevent you from falling smack dab on your face. Since I entered the working world amidst the recession, it seems that the cushion that a healthy, thriving economy once provided if you faltered is long gone. And despite a business degree and CPA certification, as a young 20-something woman, I feel that there is always something new to learn and another view to consider.
This blog is a way to document my journey for freedom from debt, for knowledge, for independence, and for finding my balance between living a frugal lifestyle and enjoying all life has to offer.
While I may focus on finance, there is also plenty on living and navigating life. Money (and how we choose to use it) is just a variable that supports the life we live and experience.
A Little Bit More About Me
-I love to travel and hope to see as much of the world as possible. You can catch the latest adventures on my Travel page.
-I was raised a ballerina (forever one at heart) and now am a yogi wanna-be.
-I’m most definitely a type-A personality. Planners, goals and to-do lists are my standards but I try to remember to use them in moderation.
-I dislike acronyms with a passion. They don’t come naturally to me. Of course I work in an industry full of them and I secretly believe they are used to keep the average person from understanding what their accountant, lawyer, doctor, etc. is actually talking about.

As you mentioned earlier, we have quite a bit in common! Unfortunately I can’t sit for the CPA as I was a finance major, but I’ve been employed as an accountant since starting out after college. We’ll see if I end up changing ever. Looking forward to your posts!
I’ve enjoyed looking at you site, and look forward to following your journey.
I love the journey you are on. Especially the part about living a frugal lifestyle and freedom from debt! Sounds like you’re already way ahead of the game!
Wishing you the best!
