The relaxing holiday weekend is sadly over. And while it was hard to go back to work today, it is already Tuesday!
The weekend kicked off with a day tubing on the river. It was a relaxing break from the city and I loved the sunshine. Unfortunately it left me very sunburnt (I did put on sunblock).
Thanks for coming out ladies!
My actual birthday was Sunday and Joe and I made a visit to his favorite New Orleans food truck the Fat Falafel. Joe told me the food was local and amazing although all i needed to hear the fact that it was middle eastern food.
The Fat Falafel did not disappoint. This platter was fresh, amazing, goodness.
Unfortunately my sunburn left me applying lots of aloe and avoiding the sun for most of the afternoon. I was such a bright shade of red that Joe and I nicked named me the lobster. Joe had plans to take me out for a nice birthday dinner and I managed to get my burnt self dressed up.
This picture doesn’t show how red I really was. Joe said I looked like a tourist that couldn’t handle to NOLA heat.
On the drive to dinner we spotted a rainbow!
We went to dinner at Galatorie’s on Bourbon street. The Southern Decadence festival was this weekend and Bourbon was lively with music when we stepped out from dinner. I love the brass bands in the street.
I finished out my the day of turning the big 25, with amazing Praline gelato (I eat lots on my birthday) and a movie. Nothing to crazy this year (thanks painful sunburn that kept me from moving too much).
